Japan’s Essential Air Service Alliance Expands Multi-Lateral Codeshare in NW22

Japan’s Big 2 carriers (ANA and JAL) and 3 regional carriers (Amakusa Airlines, Japan Air Commuter and Oriental Air Bridge) on 23AUG22 announced the expanded, multi-lateral codeshare program, set to commence on 30OCT22.
The expanded codeshare program will see ANA displaying NH-coded flight numbers on flights operated by Amakusa Airlines and Japan Air Commuter. Japan Air Commuter will begin codesharing with Oriental Air Bridge from the same date. The expanded codeshare service will be available for reservation starting Tuesday 30AUG22, as part of the 5 carrier’s agreement to strengthen cooperation under “Essential Air Service Alliance LLP”.

This marks the first time ANA begin codesharing with a JAL Group carrier
