United Resumes Brisbane Service in late-October 2022

United Airlines on Wednesday morning (08JUN22; US time zone) opened reservation for San Francisco – Brisbane route, scheduled to commence on 28OCT22. Subject to government approval, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to operate this route 3 times weekly.

Following schedule is effective 06NOV22 – 10MAR23.

This marks the return of United Airlines service to Brisbane after nearly 29 years of suspension from US mainland, as the carrier previously served Los Angeles – Sydney – Brisbane service with Boeing 747-400 between August 1991 and January 1994. Continental last operated Brisbane service with Los Angeles – Honolulu – Auckland – Brisbane until October 1993, while Continental Micronesia operated Guam – Brisbane – Sydney with DC10 in Northern summer 1993 season.
